ASIJ’s 12 Web 2.0 Things
Next week, ASIJ will be launching it’s internal 12 Web 2.0 Things program.
This is a individual, self-paced learning experience to get people started on some of the web 2.0 tools out there. The Technology, Media and Information Committee (Community?), otherwise know as TMIC, has been hard at work getting the program created and up on Blackboard. Unfortunately, it’s only available internally, but that may change in the future.
The program is loosely based on the original 23 Things program developed by Helene Blowers and more closely resembles the program that Michael Stephens did for School Library Journal, All Together Now. Both released their programs under the Creative Commons license, so we gratefully were able to use a lot of their material, remix it and share it with others.
One of the most exciting parts of this program is that those who complete it will get a chance to attend a special workshop on cutting edge uses of technology in the classroom.
In the coming days I’m going to start completing the program myself to work out any kinks. That means the require posts for the program will start appearing here shortly.
